Rockford Fosgate Announces Voice Dealer Locator

Tempe, Ariz. – Rockford Fosgate is proud to announce its Voice Dealer Locator at the 2003 CES (booth #828). The Voice Dealer Locator allows customers to find nearby authorized Rockford Fosgate dealers by simply calling a Toll-Free number. Using Automated Speed Recognition technology from Nuance, the Voice Dealer Locator can recognize spoken words over a standard telephone or cell phone and convert them into database queries.

The automated system requests the user’s state and zip code to find a group of nearby authorized Rockford Fosgate dealers. Using Text To Speech technology, also from Nuance, the dealer store name, address, city, state, zip code, and telephone number are vocalized to the customer. “Our customers are now able to find authorized Rockford Fosgate dealers using the convenience of spoken commands instead of fumbling for key pads,” explains Eric Russell, Rockford Fosgate’s Web Wizard. “It’s a monumental leap in customer support by providing true interaction with the customer.” Edward Hughes, Rockford Fosgate’s Oracle DBA, adds, “Previously, a dealer would have to wait two weeks for an updated audio file to be re-recorded on the Toll-Free version. Now with Voice Technology, authorized dealers can add, edit or delete store listings in real-time.”
