DUB Magazine Features Alex Fregoso's 2003 F-250

12 years ago DUB Magazine October 2012 Issue

One Chandler, Arizona resident Alex Fregoso heard a demo vehicle packed with Rockford Fosgate equipment thump and boom at a local show, he immediately knew no other audio brand would do for his custom 2003 Ford F-250. the lifted truck already sported some minor modifications since it would become a fierce show car, but Fregoso wanted to "knock" with bass that rattled your bones.

After finding out that David Clark and his team at the Sound Expression in Mesa, AZ were the shop behind the demo vehicle, Fregoso made sure that they gave the same audio love to his F-250 and more, requesting that only Rockford Fosgate products were used.

"I had to guarantee him that it was going to pound," Clark recalls. "We were going back and forth and I knew he was serious when he didn't flinch at the price I quoted him for the install that would achieve his audio wishes."

And because of such high expectations (Fregoso didn't want just any audio install), the custom build took about eight months to finish, with Clark and his team triple checking that his F-250 was the loudest it could possibly be.
"He wanted such a huge audio system because he noticed that a lot of show rides had good looks on the outside, but didn't have real audio systems or interiors," Clark says.  "and a lot of lifted trucks didn't have much, so he wanted to make this one a show-stopping custom truck."
Using nothing but Rockford Fosgate's best models, the final product exceeded Fregoso's initial visions and became clark's loudest audio install to date.  "Every time he's out in it, he'll text me how he's been asked to lower the music by several copy who have stopped him about the massive sound that blasts from his truck.  Another time, he called me up at the shop and said he was in the neighborhood and asked if I could hear him.  When I finally heard the music,  I texted him and it turns out he was still four blocks out!  I could clearly tell that it was a car audio system and could hear him coming from that distance already!"
Obviously, regardless of how the truck looks, you won't be able to miss this monster truck given it boasts 9,500 RMS Watts, with just the subs alone pushing 7,500 Watts!  "He's been told by people that they can 'feel' him coming just by the vibrations of the sound alone," Clark details.  "When people hear the legendary Rockford Sound they gather around it,  drawing all the attention from other cars,"  Fregoso adds.  "They are also blown away by the execution of the install done by Sound Xpression. Even when you hear a big audio system, most of the time you go look at it and it's just not finished very well."  He actually first showed it at the Mesa Lowrider show in Mesa, AZ earlier this year where it took home 1st place for the "Best in Show Truck" category.  Fregoso knew he wanted plexiglass to see the Rockford Fosgate subwoofers and custom door panels to house all the Rockford Fosgate components but was pretty blown away with the end result, Clark admits.  "The Rockford Fosgate system is more than what he was  expecting and the installation makes him feel 'untouchable' out in the streets and the car shows he enters!"
