Forsberg First at Formula D Finals

FIRST FOR FORSBERG AT FORMULA D FINALS Irwindale, CA - Drift Alliance & Team Rockford Fosgate driver Chris Forsberg finally took it to the wire in the Formula Drift at the famed house of drift, other wise known as Irwindale speedway. The final event of 2005 was by far the battle that everyone had been waiting for. As Chris Forsberg and 2005 Formula D Champion Rhys Millen knew the war was on. As the two cars left the line Millen’s over powered V8 GTO pulled six car lengths away from Forsberg’s Nissan S15 that had been the dominant car all weekend. By the time the two cars exited turn 1 Forsberg pulled the gap and was breathing down the door, bumper and anything else he could find on the GTO. At the end of round 1 the two cars were found by the Judges to be a dead even draw. But you didn’t need the judges to tell you, as the 10,000 plus crowd stomped the bleachers it and chanted “1 More Time”. When two of the best drifters lined up for the last race, last lap, last on more time of the 2005 Formula D season, the crowd wasn’t exactly sure what they would get. It turned to only be half the battle they were looking for. When the two drivers got the go sign from the SCCA official they knew what to expect from each other and went into corner 1 neck and neck. With just 5 more corners to go Forsburg dominated the second round pulling away from Millen, as Millen faded off the pace, the Champions GTO was not able to continue after so many hard runs of the weekend.
